Issued at 225 PM CST Mon Nov 7 2022
Through Tuesday night…
Quiet conditions are forecast through Tuesday night in Chicagoland. Surface high pressure will continue to drift east across the upper Great Lakes and along the eastern U.S.-Canadian border through the period. This will turn winds easterly across the area by this evening. Overnight lows dip into the lower 40s in the city, with lower to mid 30s expected in the outer suburbs and rural areas. There will be varying coverage of thin high clouds which could obscure the lunar eclipse viewing at times tonight. Tuesday high temperatures will be slightly warmer than today by a couple degrees as the surface flow turns more southeasterly and the upper ridge begins to amplify overhead and across the eastern CONUS and Canada. Increasing cloud cover as well as continued southerly flow Tuesday night will limit our cooling to the 40s for most areas.
