Thursday and Thursday Evening …

Weather Hazards expected …

Elevated Fire Weather Risk.

Thursday high temperature 52 slightly below normal 55.

DISCUSSION…

The combination of breezy westerly winds gusting upwards of 25 to 30 mph and low relative humidities in the 25 to 35 percent range this afternoon will make for an elevated risk of brush fire spread. Use caution if burning.

.SHORT TERM… Issued at 204 AM CDT Thu Apr 6 2023

Through Friday…

A period of much quieter weather will take us through the end of the week. Outside of a slightly elevated fire danger today with gusty westerly breezes and falling humidities, there are no significant weather concerns. Temperatures will wander their way back into the 50s today and we`ll likely add a few degrees to that tomorrow–at least for locales away from the lake. Strengthening southeasterly gradient flow will allow a lake breeze to readily push inland on Friday resulting in afternoon lake cooling. Otherwise, may see some increase in mid-level cloud cover across our north as a sharp vort lobe drifts into Wisconsin. Not expecting any precip out of this with better moisture profiles and instability well to the north.
