…BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM CDT SUNDAY THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT…
* WHAT…High wave action up to 7 feet and dangerous currents expected at Lake Michigan beaches.
* WHERE…Lake IL, Northern Cook and Central Cook Counties.
* WHEN…From late tonight through late Sunday night.
* IMPACTS…Swimming conditions will be life threatening, especially for inexperienced swimmers.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Remain out of the water to avoid dangerous swimming conditions and do not venture out onto piers, jetties, breakwalls, or other shoreline structures.

Forecast Beginning Saturday night, Sep. 10, 2022
Tonight: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 65. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming north after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
Sunday: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 10am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 68. North northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Sunday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 7pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 7pm and 4am, then a chance of showers after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west southwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Monday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. South southwest wind around 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon.
Monday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.
