National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville, IL

.SHORT TERM… Issued at 205 AM CST Sat Dec 10 2022

Through Sunday…

A subsidence inversion (noted around 800 mb) continues to tra Plower-level moisture and cloud cover across the area early this morning. With this expected to continue to be the case through much of the weekend, a persistent stretch of dreary weather is anticipated. Occasional bouts of drizzle (and some spotty showers) will also be possible, though will likely be the most prevalent this afternoon and evening in accordance with the timing of our next mid-level impulse shifting overhead.

The low level cloud cover will result in only modest diurnal temperature swings through the weekend. As such, daily highs will generally be in the upper 30s to the lower 40s, with lows in the 30s.
