Monday and Monday Night …
No weather hazards expected…

DISCUSSION…

A surface high pressure system currently centered in the North Dakota and South Dakota will slide into the Great Lakes today leading to partly cloudy skies, light northerly winds, and highs in the low to mid 50s. As the surface high pressure system pivots southeastward tonight, wind directions will “go around the clock” and increase modestly out of the southeast on Tuesday in response to an increasing pressure gradient.

The main concern for the weather forecast is the amount of cloudiness overnight for a Total Lunar Eclipse beginning at 2:02 a.m. and ending at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2022. The maximum eclipse is at 4:59 a.m. CST. Sunrise is at 6:33 a.m. Tuesday. Cloud cover is forecast to range from about 19% to 30% during the entire eclipse. Cloud cover around the time of maximum eclipse is forecast to be around 19% to 24%.

.SHORT TERM…
Issued at 1231 AM CST Mon Nov 7 2022

Through Tuesday…

There are no weather concerns through the short term period. A surface high pressure system currently centered in the Dakotas will slide into the Great Lakes today leading to partly cloudy skies, light northerly winds, and highs in the low to mid 50s. As the surface high pressure system pivots southeastward tonight, wind directions will “go around the clock” and increase modestly out of the southeast on Tuesday in response to an increasing pressure gradient. Tuesday looks similar to today with partly cloudy skies and highs a few degrees warmer in the mid to upper 50s.
