Saturday and Saturday Evening …
No Weather Hazards …
Beautiful Saturday is in store to kick off Memorial Day weekend.
DISCUSSION…
An associated surface high sits just up to the northeast. This pattern is conducive to rather light winds and sunny skies today. Highs today are expected to reach near 80 degrees south of I-80 and middle and upper 70s farther north. The NE winds diverging from the high will keep conditions in the low 60s along the lakeshore and lower 70s up to several miles inland.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville, IL
610 AM CDT Sat May 27 2023
.SHORT TERM… Issued at 148 AM CDT Sat May 27 2023
Through Sunday…
There continues to be very little to speak on in the short term forecast as conditions will remain nice and quiet. That being said, a beautiful Saturday is in store to kick off Memorial Day weekend. The rex block is in full swing overhead with the southern periphery of the high positioned over the area.
Tomorrow, the upper high begins scooting off to the east making room for some moisture to move in aloft and bring us a fair mix of clouds and sun during the day. Despite the added cloud cover, temperatures will continue to climb. Most across the area can expect low 80s in the afternoon with 60s and 70s once again forecast across lakeside counties.
