Wednesday and Wednesday Evening …
No Weather Hazards expected …
Partly cloudy and mostly sunny with light variable East and South winds.
DISCUSSION…
Temperatures have warmed into the mid to upper 70s this afternoon across most of our forecast area, save for our lake-adjacent locales as a lake breeze has pulled the cooler marine air mass inland. Temperatures may still tag 80 in some spots this afternoon but are otherwise expected to fall into the 50s tonight. Can`t completely rule out some patchy marine fog developing along portions of the Illinois lakeshore again tonight into tomorrow morning.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville, IL
620 AM CDT Wed May 10 2023
.SHORT TERM… Issued at 219 AM CDT Wed May 10 2023
Through Thursday…
Pretty quiet in the weather department in the short term. Temperatures today will be about 5 to 10 degrees warmer than they were yesterday (away from the lake) under a mix of high clouds and sun. Webcams do show what looks like a little marine fog off the Chicago shore, and some of this could wander back towards the lakefront this morning as winds turn more easterly. Otherwise, chopped a few degrees off the dewpoints today with evening RAOBs showing quite a reservoir of dry air present at 850 mb, with low- level water vapor imagery corroborating this. Think we`ll manage to mix into this pretty efficiently today. Similar trends for Thursday with warm and dry conditions expected. It looks like we`ll pick up a bit more cloud cover, especially very late in the day, but don`t think this will impact our ability to warm into the low to even mid 80s away from the lake.
